Parents First helps parents build a clearer, more stable family education system. We believe every family deserves the right kind of support. Sometimes that support is us, and sometimes it is another kind of professional. Here is an honest look at both.
Parents First is an educational and developmental platform. We focus on everyday family life and long term parenting growth.
Practical parenting education for everyday family life, not theory for its own sake.
Supporting children's intellectual, emotional, adaptability and social development.
Structured learning that helps parents understand themselves, their child and each growth stage.
A supportive space where parents grow alongside other parents, over time.
Our programmes are educational and developmental in nature. We are not a clinical, medical or counselling service, and the needs below are best met by the right qualified professional.
Clinical mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders or trauma.
A licensed clinical psychologist or psychiatrist.
Psychotherapy or counselling.
A Registered Counsellor (Kaunselor Berdaftar) under Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia.
Suspected developmental differences such as ADHD, autism, speech delay or learning differences.
A paediatrician first, who can refer you to the right specialist.
Special education needs.
A qualified special needs education specialist.
Medical or psychiatric care, including medication.
A medical doctor or psychiatrist.
Working with Parents First does not replace professional care, and seeking professional care does not mean Parents First isn't for you. Many families do both: they work with a counsellor or therapist on specific challenges, and use Parents First to build their everyday family education system. We're glad to support families alongside the professionals they trust.
That's completely okay. Reach out and we'll help you think it through.
Parents First programmes are educational and developmental in nature. They do not constitute clinical, medical, psychological or counselling services. If in doubt about your family's needs, please consult a qualified professional.
